Abstract

The Vietnamese stock exchange showed signs of a firm, although not strong, recovery in 2009, partly because of encouraging signals from both domestic and foreign markets, the government stimulus package, and restoration of investors trust in the market against challenges caused by the global financial crisis. Changes in the market were reflected extensively and intensively by activities on the HoSE, the Vietnams biggest securities trading center. Particularly, proactive and active activities of the HoSE helped change the face of the market and bring about achievements of the Vietnam stock exchange in 2009.
