On the afternoon of July 27, 2023, the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES) had a meeting with Can Tho University Journal of Science to exchange experiences in the process of joining SCOPUS. With the achievements in the process of internationalization and joining the prestigious international indexes, especially the fact that JABES was officially recognized in the SCOPUS List in the Q1 quartile, JABES shared practical experiences for Can Tho University Journal of Science.
On the side of JABES, attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai – Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Huynh Luu Duc Toan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief and members of the Journal; On behalf of Can Tho University Journal of Science, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of Can Tho University - Head of the delegation, Dr. Tran Thanh Dien - Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Members of the Journal.

After the welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai, representative of the Delegation – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong stated: “Can Tho University and Can Tho University Journal of Science are very appreciative of the achievements JABES has achieved in recent years, especially the event that JABES officially joined the list of SCOPUS from March 2022 and look forward to sharing JABES's experiences with the hope that Can Tho University Journal of Science can be selectively absorbed for the SCOPUS joining strategy in 2025".
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai affirmed that on the basis of the good relationship between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho University for many years, JABES is willing to support and contribute ideas to Can Tho University Journal of Science to complete international standards to join SCOPUS in the near future.
Representing JABES, Dr. Huynh Luu Duc Toan detailed the six-step roadmap that JABES has implemented and succeeded in participating in ESCI, SCOPUS, ABDC... along with key work contents and practical experiences of JABES in which Dr. Huynh Luu Duc Toan emphasized the standards of article quality, the internationalization of editorial board members, the geographical diversity of authors, ensuring a transparent working process and independent peer review along with solutions to attract and to improve the quality of articles so as to enhance the recognition of the domestic and international scientific community.

After the presentation of Dr. Huynh Luu Duc Toan, Dr. Tran Thanh Dien summarized the model and activities of Can Tho University Journal of Science. In each content presented, the two sides had discussions, at the same time, JABES shared some practical experiences to suggest that the Can Tho University Journal of Science can be formed on the actual operating status for reference, application, and effective implementation in the near future.

The working session ended successfully in the spirit of open exchange and sincere comments with the common goal of bringing Vietnamese economic journals into the international academic community, continuing to maintain and promote the future relationship between the two Universities in general and the two Journals in particular.
