From November 5-7, 2023, JABES in affiliation with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) had a business trip to survey and discuss the cooperation in organizing ACBES 2024 with the leadership of Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) and Udayana University (UNUD) in Bali, Indonesia. The business trip aimed to concretize the cooperation agreements between the three universities: UEH, UNPAD, and UNUD in co-organizing the ACBES International Conference 2024.
ACBES is a series of prestigious international conferences on economics and business organized annually by JABES (UEH). The conference always attracts a large number of high-quality articles and receives the attention of a large community of domestic and international academicians and researchers. The upcoming 6th ACBES conference (ACBES 2024) will be a jointly organized project between three universities: UEH, UNPAD, and UNUD in Bali, Indonesia.

Visiting and working at Udayana University, on behalf of UEH, there were: Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of JABES, Head of the ACBES Organizing Committee and Dr. Phan Chung Thuy - Deputy Dean of the School of Banking, project coordinator. On behalf of Universitas Padjadjaran, there were Prof.Dr. Nunuy Nur Afiah - Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business; Dr. Kurniawan Saefullah - Deputy Dean; Prof.Dr. Yudi Azis - Director of the doctoral program in management sciences; Dr. Meinanda Kurniawan - Head of the International Cooperation Department along with staff and lecturers of the department. On behalf of Udayana University, there were Dr. Agoes Ganesha Rahyuda - Head of Faculty of Economics and Business; Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Purbadharmaja - 1st Deputy Dean; Dr. Gusti Ngurah Agung Suaryana - 2nd Deputy Dean; Dr. Gde Kajeng Baskara - 3rd Deputy Dean; along with the Directors of the doctoral and Master's programs in Economics, Business and Accounting.
Overview of the meeting
Speaking at the meeting, the representative of JABES (UEH), Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai shared the achievements of JABES in recent times (officially listed in SCOPUS Q1, ABDC rank B, and ESCI). At the same time, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai stated: "Organizing the ACBES International Conference 2024 in Indonesia will pose many challenges but also open up many new opportunities for the development path ACBES and JABES in the upcoming time, with the goal of attracting the interest of young scholars and researchers from countries in Southeast Asia. This contributes to enhancing the academic reputation of all three universities."

On behalf of UNUD leaders, Dr. Agoes Ganesha Rahyuda warmly welcomed the delegation from UEH University, Vietnam for their visit and especially created an opportunity for the Faculty of Economics and Management of UNUD, Indonesia to become a co-organizer of the upcoming ACBES International Conference 2024.

The representative of UNPAD, Prof.Dr. Nunuy Nur Afiah reviewed important milestones in the cooperation between the three universities at the department level on academic exchanges. In particular, Prof.Dr. Nunuy Nur Afiah believed that combining the ACBES 2024 of JABES (UEH) and UNPAD GARCOMBs 2024 at UNUD University in Bali, Indonesia will be a big step forward in comprehensive academic cooperation at departmental and university levels.

At the discussion session, leadership representatives of the parties discussed and reached an agreement that ACBES 2024 will be officially held within 3 days (from August 28 to 30, 2024) at UNUD University (Bali, Indonesia), and agreed on the main contents of important principles in coordinating to organize the Conference including the program framework, topics, submission and registration process, structure of the steering committee, advisory board, and specialization committee, and the coordination process between the parties.

This visit was the first step in the effort to bring the ACBES International Conference 2024 directly to universities in Asia. Representatives of the parties expected that ACBES 2024 would not only be an opportunity to connect researchers around the world but also open up research and exchange opportunities between researchers at universities in ASEAN.
